Study Guide: Take Time to Be Holy | March 2018

Hello friends! Can you believe March is upon us and it is time to start yet another study guide? I have a feeling March is going to be incredible for all of us, so let’s get into it!

First of all, let me just ask….how is 2018 going for you so far? Cast your mind back to the January study guide. What kinds of things did you plan to focus on this year? If you are one who picks a focus word for the year, how is that going? What progress have you made? If you are so inclined, drop me an email and let me know the answers to these questions. I’d love to hear from you.

Second, one of the most frequently asked questions we get at The Small Seed is,

How can I really put God first in my life?

There is no single right answer to this question. Certainly, we each have a unique relationship with God, and of course we each find our own way to honor Him. But one thing is constant:

Truly putting God first requires the devotion of T-I-M-E.

Our hope for you and for us all this month is that we slow down, breathe in deeply, and take time to focus on what matters most. To that end, we have created a four-week study guide inspired by the words of the beloved Christian hymn, Take Time to Be Holy. This guide is meant to zero in on ways that we can intentionally and purposefully pursue holiness in our daily lives.

No matter how you feel you’re doing this year, March can be a breath of fresh air. I know that even when I start the year off strong, with clarity of purpose and the drive to succeed, by the time March rolls around I can start to get bogged down with little things. All of a sudden, I’m wondering how I let myself get so busy, or how I managed to fall back into an old habit I thought I had left behind. Sneaky habits.

When we choose to take time out of other endeavors, however worthy they may be, and consecrate that time to holiness, we show God where our priorities lie. And interestingly enough, what I have found is that when we show God that He is our priority, all of our other worthy endeavors are blessed.

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
