Lizzy is a mother to 4, a wife, an attorney, and the founder of The Small Seed. She loves cooking, reading, fitness, and anything creative, and hopes to be really good at at least one of them someday. At heart, she’s a small town girl living in the suburbs of a really big city (NYC), and loves keeping a foot in both. Her faith in God has changed who she is, and has shown her that with God all things are truly possible.
She received her undergraduate degree in Family Studies from Brigham Young University, where she graduated Valedictorian. After serving an 18-month mission in Croatia, she went to law school in NYC. She is now a full-time mom and part-time entrepreneur, currently working on an app.
Trying to explain my testimony is a little like trying to write out what it means to me to have arms, or legs, or a brain. My knowledge and feelings of my God and my Savior, Jesus Christ, is everything to me.
Knowing that God has a plan for my life, and that he sent his son, Jesus Christ to die for me is overwhelming in the best possible way. My own faith started when I was just a child, I have a few specific memories while reading a scripture, or singing a hymn, where I remember feeling God's love for me, and know he was real as sure as I knew anything. However with time, trials, and learning, I have proven this faith in my life, and know that without it I am nothing, and with it there is no question, pain, or problem that remains. Reading in his word, of his life in the New Testament, and his ministry in the Old Testament and Book of Mormon has changed me, and is the manna that feeds me every day.
How grateful I am for my Jesus. My purpose is to live for Him, and bring all I can to know and taste of His goodness.
Anything active or artistic, or having to do with food. And if you can combine that with people I love I'm there every time!
Favorite: anything really fresh. Least favorite: I pretty much eat everything...
Peonies, ranunculous, hypericum berries. And give me all the green plants!!
My top 3 are Scotland, Turkey,
I think ones in our Traditions series have been some of my favorites—our Easter one has completely changed our family!
I have also been so touched and changed any time Becca Robison posts (she is one of the most thoughtful people I know!), and really love all our Stories of Faith. To say nothing of the Study Guides!! Clearly I have such a love for this place, and this team, and the work we feel so privileged to do here.
Since my college days my favorite scripture has been Proverbs 3:5-7. After a few tough experiences it seemed this verse was just burned into my memory, and every time I repeat it I again feel the truth of the words:
I love studying, learning, and teaching about how God has a mission for each of us, and how to learn and become disciples of Jesus Christ. I love studying the lives of disciples through the ages.
I also love studying the principles of how to share our faith, and the principles of a Zion community.
At a few different points in my life I've really connected with the work of Walter Rane.
I have always loved Esther. I tell her story to my oldest at least once a week.
So many. Lysa Terkeurst, Emily Belle Freeman, Lara Casey, Bianca Olthoff...
I could go on and on!
All the Christmas Hymns!
The Small Seed of course!

It's all going to work out. Just you wait!
Balancing the work I feel called to do with the one-on-one ministry with those closest to me.
